Attendance Policy
Members of the chorale are expected to be at every
rehearsal. Occasionally, reasons present themselves which prevent
a member from coming (illness, emergency, etc.). GVC members are
allowed three (3) absences. After that, they should discuss with
the director the possibility of sitting out for that concert season.
However, all questions of absences and membership are left to the
discretion of the director. If you must be absent, please call or
e-mail.
Dues
All members purchase their own music, therefore, a fee of $20.00 is due
in September and again in January. The music will be ordered for you.
Students registered for the Greenbrier Valley Chorale at New River Community
and Technical College for academic credit do not have to purchase music.
Inclement Weather
If you can get to rehearsal, please come. The director will always
be there unless it is treacherous outside. If you have a question
about rehearsal, call the director and listen to the message.
Concert Dress
Women - GVC gown and jacket, black hose, black, low-heeled shoes.
Ladies are responsible for purchasing the gown. We will provide
ordering information.
Men - Black tuxedo pants and jacket,
white tuxedo shirt, black cummerbund and tie, black socks, black dress
shoes. GVC can help with ordering tuxedos. Men are responsible
for acquiring their own tuxedo. We will provide ordering information
for those who wish to purchase through a chorale costume catalog.
